Two dates are left to attend the wine tasting event in the Greater New Orleans area. For the second year in a row, Commander’s Palace will be hosting the CP Sips series at its location. This event has three dates this year – June 28th, July 26th, and August 30th. There will also be a special holiday edition of this series, the date of which has not been announced.
Commander’s Palace is celebrating 130 years in business and has been renowned for its varied wine selections. Currently, the wine procurement program is under the capable oversight of Dan Davis, a James Beard nominee and Commander’s Palace “Wine Guy.” Under his guidance, Commander’s Palace offers Wines of a Certain Age which rotates a list of wines by the glass and half glass. This program offers 40 different wines of differing prices and quality from award-winning curators around the globe. It offers visitors a chance to taste rare wines by the glass they would otherwise not be able to, as they are normally only available to be purchased by the bottle. This successful program has opened patrons’ palates to new and varied tastes.
The CP Sips series is in collaboration with Swirl Wine Bar & Market and seven local distributors. During the dates of the event, visitors will have the opportunity to sample up to 40 different wines. The events are held at Commander’s Palace and in addition to the wine, Chef Meg Bickford will be serving gourmet cheeses, seafood, and other selections. For those who prefer different beverages the cocktail mixer station at Commander’s Palace will be open with selections from Porchjam Distillery.
The CP Sips Series is from 5:30PM – 7:00PM on June 28th, July 26th and August 30th. Tickets are $79 per person to attend.
